Portrait of Dana Claxton
Leading up to celebrated Canadian artist, Dana Claxton’s reception of the Governor Generals Award, we are asked by the Canadian Government to capture her story. This would have to be only a glimpse into her career though, as we had a limit the work to exactly, 3-minutes.
To do this we spent a day with Dana, getting to know her and her work and a second day filming. Her outgoing and generous nature allowed us to pull out a powerful story from our interview. This coupled with the footage captured on the UBC and Emily Car campus and her archive of work, we were able to deliver a video that does justice to this great artistic career.
